Sunbathing and walking along Sander's 1/4 mile-plus long beach has for over a century been a favorite pastime of local folks. This remarkable beach is a Common Law thoroughfare, connecting the south ends of 12th Street and 15th Street, and is available for anyone to traverse or use in a thoughtful, considerate manner.

 

This temperate attitude is supported by Idaho State law. Idaho statutes give immunity from negligence lawsuits to the property owners that do not restrict access to public waterways, including lakes, rivers and streams, that adjoin their property. In our litigous society, this public policy is a valuable benefit that encourages property owners to support the enjoyment of Idaho's natural wonders by locals and visitors alike.

Many guests at Katie's Wild Rose Inn plan a walk or a picnic at Sander's Beach. The southern exposure is optimum for tanning and is only 1 block from the Tubb's Hill nature walk, where the views of Coeur d'Alene Lake are magnificent. Bring your towel and catch some rays!
